Free SEO Analysis
Because our compensation is based upon percentage, we are a bit more selective with our clients than most Search Engine Optimization Companies and run a deep SEO Analysis.
We think that's a good thing.
Many SEO companies promise the world and then don't deliver, which is part of the reason that the industry has a bad reputation for being snake oil salesmen.
The truth is not every site can rank for every keyword, which is why good SEO Analysis is necessary. Some site's can't rank, in the near term, for some keywords -- This is a problem especially reported by startups. The reason that many SEO companies are consider so shady is that they are not honest about these limitations.
How good Search Engine Analysis can help you weed out false promises
Generally google ranks sites by asking two questions:
- What is this site about?
- How many people recommend this site?
So let's say you searched for "widgets." In our admittedly simplistic example, Google (or yahoo, bing, ask, etc) takes all the sites that are about widgets and essentially orders them by how many people recommend that site (recommendations, in this example, meaning links). Now, it's a lot more complicated, because the search engines try to ascertain whether those recommendations are coming from reputable or non-reputable sources and gives each source a value according to how knowledgeable and trusted that source is about the topic... but it's a good place to start.
A search engine optimization expert really can help with the first question -- i.e. making sure that the search engine spiders can read the content on your site and know what it is about. This is usually the main concern of the SEO (but not the main concern of this article).
And a search engine optimization expert can help a little with building links, but google (yahoo, bing, ask, etc) really value the type of recommendation sources that a search engine optimization expert cannot control. Additionally, by building links, a search engine optimization expert runs the risk of building fake recommendations and thus, devaluing a site's consideration in google (or banning it altogether).
In short, search engines don't want you to game the system and build fake recommendations, so they are constantly trying to discover and decrease the value of these "fakes."
Building links is best when it is something that happens naturally (by sending our press releases, getting mentioned in the news, partnering with other companies, having appropriate resellers or affiliate program, etc), not when it's forced.
Search engines are always trying to weed out these easily manipulated "recommendations." So, there is a limit to the number of legitimate pages to which a search engine optimization expert can add your site. Our free SEO Analysis will help you understand if a search engine optimization strategy will even have a worthwhile effect for your site, or if you will still be far below your competitors recommendations and thus never rank for what you are trying to rank.
With our Free SEO Analysis, you will receive...
- A detailed itemization of your "digital assets" -- how much google trusts your content, how much of your content google can see (number of pages), and how many incoming links you have
- Keywords that people search that could possibly mean that they would be your future customers
- The number of times each of these keywords are searched per month
- A comparison of your digital assets to the results of the sites currently appearing for those keywords
That last item is key, because that's the real value of a search engine optimization expert.
A good Search Engine Optimization Expert strategizes like a invading general. Picking and choosing keyword battlefields that his client can win, while moving in a strategic direction towards ones that he is building towards ranking for.
Given that we work on commission, we have to do some extensive analysis to determine if a potential client would even be profitable for us. So we make this information available to our potential clients as well.
